Here are a couple of ideas for you. Spread Wedel's Composted Cow Manure and sphagnum peat moss over your growing areas. Cultivate or till in. Another method works very well also. Use a cordless drill and a bulb auger (Wedel's has a variety of augers to choose from.) and drill holes about eighteen inches deep every foot throughout the beds. Again, use a mixture of Wedel's Composted Cow Manure and sphagnum peat moss to fill the holes. Rake to spread the soil from the holes across the planting area. This method is called vertical mulching. Worms and insects eat the organic material you've put in the holes and, as they burrow into the surrounding soil they leave casings which improves the native soil there.
